MAGNOLIA ANTIQUE CAR CLUB MONTHLY MEETING
FEBRUARY 2010
The last meeting of the Magnolia Antique Car Club was held on
February 23, 2010 at Martha's Menu. There were 39 in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by President, Rick Kelley. Lenny
Redders gave the invocation.
The financial report and minutes were read by Secretary, Pam
Austin. A motion to accept these as read was made and seconded.
Rick informed members that the Birmingham Swap Meet had been
moved to Talladega. He also gave dates of upcoming shows. We
were reminded that the club's first Dairy Queen cruise-in of
the year would be Sunday, March 28, 2010 and that the LeBonher
Fundraiser would be at the October cruise-in.
Members were advised that Junior Morgan's one year term on
the Executive Committee had expired and Beverly Gooch had been
asked to fill his position. A motion was made by Jim Blalock
to accept her as the newest member of the committee and it was
seconded by Bill Rogers.
Members were reminded that club dues need to be paid as soon
as possible and that new members need to give their information
to the club secretary.
Don Pace and Mike Brown were asked to give members information
about MOTAA. They passed out literature and explained procedures
pertaining to rules and judging.
Rick gave information on a new PA system for the club. Discussion
was made as to the size, wattage, price and shipping. A motion
was made and seconded to purchase the system.
We talked about planning a club cruise for the fall. Bill Rogers
suggested to members that those going to any of the summer shows
should make their room reservations early.
We had a short discussion about the Hiawassee, Georgia show
coming up in August. Rick informed anyone wanting to go that
the Ramada Inn was just across the street from where the show
will be.
Joe Austin won the jackpot drawing. Bill Rogers commended Charlie
Gooch for his work on the club website.
With no more business, the meeting was adjourned.
